Miami-Dade County CARES Act Grant for COVID-19 Mental Health Awareness

COVID-19 Mental Health & Wellness Program

RER developed the Program to assist Miami-Dade County residents navigate the myriad of challenges during and post the COVID-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on the wide spectrum of mental health-related issues associated with disasters and pandemics. RER secured strategic partners to successfully develop and deliver a multi-layered, evidence-informed program (CMHWP) to the residents of Miami-Dade County.

The RER Team developed the program methodology, implemented policies and procedures for verifying program fidelity and provided participants with a variety of support services to address key areas of need as affected by the COVID-19 pandemic: Stress, Anxiety, Depression, and Support to help them in their mental health and wellness journey.

The program targeted all 2.8 million Miami-Dade residents, but focused additional resources on those residents living in hard to reach and marginalized communities. Further, the program resourced a team of Subject Matter Experts to deliver all aspects of the program in a culturally and linguistically competent manner including surveys, marketing materials, and educational modules in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole – the three primary languages in Miami-Dade County. At the end of the engagement period, RER exceeded the goals set by Miami-Dade County by 103%.
